The figures of this phase are different from the others as for size and features: they represent animals, some of them extinct at present in this zone, such as the elk. They often are represented in big size and only with the outline, wounded by darts or running.

These figures, in their evident stylistic realism, indicate animal as the only source of inspiration.
It is important to observe that the artist wanted to represent just “this animal”, its anatomical details, its features, and not generically “an animal” symbol of the whole species.
